2008 EMS Council Banquet EMS: Your Life Is Our Mission.  That was the theme of the 35th annual National EMS Week, which ran from May 18th – 24th. As part of that EMS Week celebration, the Chester County EMS Council, Inc. held their 4th annual EMS Awards Ceremony on May 22nd.  The event was expanded this year to include a formal dinner, and more than 225 people came out to the Red Clay Room in Kennett Square to celebrate the event.  Council President John Felicetti was master of ceremonies, and remarks were offered by Director Ed Atkins, Director Joseph Schmider Commissioner Kathi Cozzone, and PA Senator Andrew Dinniman.

2008 Mass Casuality Exercise Program This year the Department of Emergency Services – Field Services Division has once again contracted with Binns and Associates to offer several series of mass casualty exercises in Chester County.   The goal of these exercises is to assist EMS and other emergency and non-emergency personnel in preparing for their potential response to a mass casualty incident.  The exercises focus on the understanding and use of the Chester County Mass Casualty Response Plan, the SMART Triage system, the County’s Mass Casualty trailers, and the Incident Command System.
